ITINERARY

Day 1: Siem Reap arrival

Welcome to Siem Reap, the provincial capital and gateway to the ancient Angkor Temples. Designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Angkor Archaeological Park encompasses dozens of temple ruins including Bayon, Banteay Srei and the legendary Angkor Wat. Our guide and driver will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel for check-in.

Day 2: Biking through Angkor

Today you begin your biking adventure through the magnificent Angkor Archaeological Park. Our guide will meet you at your hotel and lead the way, cycling out of Siem Reap and into the Angkor complex. Start your tour with a visit to the legendary Angkor Wat – the largest Khmer temple and finest example of Angkorian art and architecture, then pedal to Angkor Thom’s imposing South Gate, topped with the four serenely smiling faces of Avalokiteshvara. Next, visit Bayon temple, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Stop for a lunch of delicious Khmer cuisine before visiting the mysterious, jungle-entwined temple, Ta Prohm. Return the hotel around 3pm and enjoy some free time to relax and take a shower. At 4:30pm our guide will meet you at the hotel and take the tuk tuk to Phnom Bakheng to enjoy the sunset, casting the surrounding temple-dotted jungle in golden radiance.

Day 3: Siem Reap – Flight of Gibbon – Bantaey Srei

The tour starts with a pickup from your hotel.
Receive a safety briefing from our Sky Ranger guides and then, before you know it you are up in the treetops, flying between towering teak trees on a low impact zipline adventure with views the surrounding park, valleys and mountains.  As you look down into the lush forests below you will see wildlife, butterflies and much more.
In the afternoon, drive to Banteay Srei, home to Angkor’s finest stone carvings, followed by Preah Khan (Sacred Sword): one of Angkor’s largest temples, constructed in the 12th century by Jayavarman VII.

Day 4: Siem Reap – ATV Riding – Boat trip to Tonle Sap

Savor your breakfast at hotel before starting an interesting day.
Start the tour with exciting ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) Riding. This 45 Kilometer trip through the countryside surrounding Siem Reap is a perfect way to discover the area and what it’s like ride an All-Terrain Vehicle. Easy routes are chosen for beginners and a bit more challenging for experienced drivers.
We promise you unforgettable memories! After this riding, we are taking a break from temples and going on a traditional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap. This is the largest permanent fresh-water lake in South Asia and flows into Tonle Sap River, joining the Mekong in Phnom Penh. We will see a “floating village” – boats that have been converted to look like houses and the “village” moves from place to place according to the water levels.

Day 5: Siem Reap – Fly to Mandalay

This morning, transfer to Siem Reap airport for your flight to Mandalay (transit at Bangkok airport). Upon arrival, meet your tour guide and driver.

Day 6: Mandalay – Mingun – Mandalay Hill

Arrive at Mandalay International Airport, meet your guide and driver then drive to Mandalay pier, embarking on a private boat upstream to visit Mingun, famed for its huge and incomplete Pahtodawgyi Pagoda and Mingun Bell the 90 tons ringing bell.
In the afternoon, visit Mandalay Palace, Shwenandaw Monastery – noted for its exquisite wood carvings, gold leaf beating workshop, Kuthodaw Pagoda – known as the world’s biggest book and finish the tour by visiting Mandalay Hill to watch the sun-set and the panoramic view of the city.

Day 7: Mandalay – Pyin Oo Lwin (Maymyo)

Depart this morning from Mandalay on a scenic two-hour drive to the former British hill station of Maymyo, now officially called Pyin Oo Lwin.  The town is located on a plateau 1000m above sea level and renowned for its cooler temperatures and lush foliage. Many reminders of the colonial era are still present in Pyin Oo Lwin, including brick and timber houses with British names and the Botanical Gardens to the south of town. Visit the local market in the center of the town near the clock tower where colorful array of items are for sale including locally-produced jams and fruit wines.
This afternoon, enjoy a traditional horse and carriage ride through the town to see the historical houses including Candacraig, built in 1905. Your horse and carriage will drop you off at the 175-hectare Botanical Gardens where you can take a relaxing walk through the beautifully-landscaped gardens.

Day 8: Pyin Oo Lwin – Train to Gokteik – Kyaukme

Today we will take the 8:34am morning train to Nawngpeng through Gokteik. This train used to be an infamous black-market train transporting goods to and from China. As you travel past pretty hills and scenery the train will also cross the famous 700 meter long Gokteik Viaduct, built in 1900 by the American Pennsylvania Steel Co. The impressive height from the bridge to the bottom of the valley is nearly 300 meters. After crossing the bridge the train will stop at a small station and you will get the chance to have a better look at the bridge. Please take note that you may be not permitted to photograph/video as the Burmese consider the bridge to be of strategic importance. Arrival at Kyauk Me in the afternoon & take a stroll around this charming trading town amid the Shan Hills.
Late afternoon, transfer back to your hotel in Pyin Oo Lwin

Day 9: Pyin Oo Lwin – Amarapura – Sagaing – U Bein Bridge

After breakfast, drive all the way back to Mandalay. Upon arrival, drive a short way more to Amarapura. Being famous for Mahagandaryone Monastery, Amarapura is the best place to experience the monk life in Mandalay. Every day at mid-morning, monks and novices line up silently to receive their daily offering of alms and food from faithful Buddhists.
Next, head to Sagaing, discover the monk education, visit Budda cave, Uminthonze pagoda and Sunooponnyashin pagoda. Behold the panoramic view of Mandalay.
We then cross the river by ferry to Inwa (Ava), situated on the banks of the Irrawaddy River. Once a royal capital, Inwa is now a quiet rural oasis. Enjoy a horse cart ride around the peaceful countryside, visiting Bagaya Kyaung, a beautiful teak wood monastery, Maha Aungmyay Bonzan Kyaung, and Nan Myint tower.
End of the day, walk over Ubein Wooden Bridge, the longest teakwood of its type to Mahamuni Image – a bronze Buddha image castled during the lifetime of Buddha himself. Enjoy great sunset view here.

Day 10: Mandalay – Drive to Bagan – Horse-cart to sunset

Leave Mandalay for Bagan by land. You will reach Bagan after 4-5 hour drive. Check-in at your hotel and enjoy your time at leisure.
This afternoon, enjoy an exotic horse cart ride to one of the biggest temples in Bagan: Nan Paya Pagoda and many other interesting sites nearby. The highlight of today is the panoramic sunset view from the second highest pagoda of Bagan the ShweSandaw Pagoda.

Day 11: Bagan Discovery by bike

Bicycles are the perfect way to explore the temples of Bagan. We take a morning ride around the Archaeological Zone before returning for a dip in the pool. The sunset, with views across the plains studded with chedis and temples, is something you will never forget.

Day 12: Bagan Sightseeing

Start your tour with a trip to the bustling Nyang U Market in Old Bagan then explore the beautiful, gold leaf Shwezigon Pagoda and learn about Burmese Buddhist traditions. We continue our tour with a visit to Ananda Temple, stopping along the way on the Bagan plains to admire some of the surrounding temples. In the afternoon, take a tour of a local lacquer ware workshop and learn how this traditional piece of art is made.

Day 13: Bagan – Fly to Heho – Pindaya – Inle Lake

This morning, transfer to Nyang U airport for your flight to Heho (Inle Lake). Arrive at Heho airport, where our driver and guide awaits to pick you up. Take a nice drive to Pindaya through the picturesque countryside of Shan State. Visit Pindaya’s limestone cave with its maze of chambers displaying more than 8,000 Buddha statues and local handicraft workshops producing Shan paper made from mulberry bark and traditional umbrellas made from the same paper that are used by monks all around the country. Later in the afternoon, drive to Inle Lake where you will embark a long boat for a sunset ride to your resort

Day 14: Inle Lake Discovery

In this morning, you will visit the 5 days market which is hold in different villages surround the lake. This is definitely a fascinating place to enjoy the scene of local tribes in their colorful clothes and exotic market atmosphere.
After lunch, the boat will take you to beautiful temple of Indein, located on the hill overlooking the lake. It will be definitely relaxing to walk along the corridor and enjoy the giant columns which have been left to the nature for centuries.

Day 15: Inle Lake – Heho – Yangon City

After breakfast, transfer to Heho for your flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided city tour exploring Yangon and its highlights from Sule pagoda, the heart of Yangon city. Next, enjoy your shopping time in Scott market. Finally, visit the most sacred Shwedagon pagoda before transferring to your hotel.
